IT IS TIME FOR CHANGES

It is time for great changes
I won’t bother you and try to tell you briefly what I am going to write in this blog. My parents, friends and even my wife think that I’m a bit weird with weird ideas. I might admit to be weird, though the spheres of my interest. I was keen on painting, architecture, modeling, music, photography and history. I’ve tried all possible spheres and for the last one year I took a great interest in robotics.

Just like others, in my childhood I was in love with the movie “Terminator”. I often imagined myself in my dreams in the future the author of the movie depicts. The years have passed and today has come. This is the epoch of great changes, maybe unacceptable. In my opinion we are in the period of great technological changes. It is the time when a common young man can do the things that were unimaginable 10 or 20 years.

Together with the technological progress there is danger, that the weak part of the society will not make steps for which the mankind will be responsible. That is why I named this project Skynet. It is the name of the virus that sooner or later a man starts and it may cause great damage to the development of the mankind. That is why I think, that we should learn the phenomenon of Skynet.

We should create robots and know all details that could help us in future. In order to know Skynet, one must be its creator and the part of it, to be able to fight against it in case Skynet gets into hands of bad politicians and people.

Europeans created unmanned helicopter

TANAN 300

European company Cassidian, part of the concern EADS, has demonstrated a compact helicopter TANAN 300 capable of performing a variety of tasks over the water and on land. TANAN 300, mainly be used to conduct intelligence operations. The device is equipped with a high resolution camera, electro-optical and infrared cameras. The helicopter has a system for automatic identification of ships AIS (Automatic Identification System) and system identification "friend or foe".
The maximum duration of the flight TANAN 300 is 8 hours. Range - 180 km. The helicopter can carry 50 kg of cargo. TANAN 300 may be controlled by one operator. The device operates in the temperature range from minus 20 degrees to 50 degrees Celsius.

Improved artificial muscles for robots

New artificial muscles developed by experts from the National University of Singapore, will allow to create more advanced robots, according to E & T.

Currently, most created robots strongmen have hydraulic systems that does not have high speed. Singapore scientists were able to develop artificial muscles that allow robots to move more naturally. Made using polymer materials, muscles are able to lift a load, 80 times their own weight. Thus, they can be stretched 5 times. Robots with these muscles will compete even ants, which have been known to lift a load, mass of which exceeds 20 times their own weight.

UK military spacecraft launched

Britain has launched Skynet 5B - the latest spacecraft in a sophisticated new military communications system.

The satellite rode into orbit atop an Ariane 5 rocket from Europe's Kourou spaceport, in French Guiana.
Over the course of the next month, 5B will take up a position over the Indian Ocean and begin handling secure traffic for UK forces around the world.
The £3.6bn Skynet project is the UK's single biggest space venture and is designed to operate until 2020.
The rocket left the spaceport at 1906 local time (2206 GMT). It was a case of third time lucky after technical glitches had thwarted two previous attempts at a launch.
The Skynet payload separated from the Ariane just 27 minutes into the flight and was soon picked up by controllers through a ground station in Africa.
The spacecraft will need about 20 days of manoeuvres to take up a geostationary position at 53 degrees East.
